Transtechnik Asia Pacific Pty Ltd was established in 1998 following the success of the parent company, Transtechnik GmbH and Co. KG, of Germany in completing several large auxiliary power converter contracts in Asia.

Transtechnik Asia Pacific incorporates the regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific region and is located in the harbour city of Sydney, Australia. Sales, Technical and Project Management support is provided from Sydney with engineering back-up available from the head office in Holzkirchen, Germany.

Recent contract successes include projects for Queensland Railway tilt trains, for new suburban trains Melbourne and for the refurbishment of over 250 double deck suburban cars operated by Railcorp in Sydney. Based on these successes an assembly and testing facility was established in early 2002. This facility provides local content for the Australian market while also bolstering the service capability.
