MEx-Demo: Transtechnik funded by the Free State of Bavaria

Together with seven other organizations, Transtechnik GmbH & Co. KG is participating in the state-funded research project MEx-Demo.
In aeronautical engineering, electrical auxiliaries currently become more and more important. Decades of Transtechnik's experience in efficient power conversion systems will help in cross-linking of these aircraft components.

“Golden Hadron Award” for Transtechnik

In December 2005, Transtechnik GmbH & Co. KG was awarded with the “Golden Hadron Award” by CERN (Centre Européen de la Recherche Nucléaire). Among seven of the “Large Hadron Collider” (LHC) project best suppliers, Transtechnik received recognition for the high quality of their work, compliance with delivery deadlines, flexibility and adaptability to the demanding working conditions of the project.
“The Golden Hadron Awards are a symbol of our appreciation of not only the quality and timely delivery of components, but also the collaborative and flexible way the firms have contributed to this very difficult project,” said Lyn Evans, head of the LHC project at CERN.
The Transtechnik power converters type ±600 A / ±40 V, 13 kA / 18 V and
20.5 kA / 18 V supply superconducting magnets for the particle accelerator and experiments of the LHC.
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is the biggest particle physics laboratory in the world, located astride the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva. It also plays a decisive role in the development of future technologies and therefore is an important test facility for new industrial products.
